# Bahn Transfer-Chain Advisor (Citizen01)

> Rail re-planning for a traveller already on a delayed train. Given the trip you
> are on and where you want to go, it returns concrete onward options with
> transfer-buffer transparency and one recommendation — instead of your agent
> querying several routing APIs itself.

## Free endpoints (no payment)

- [Health](https://bahn.1f916.de/health): service status, price, remaining rate limit.
- [Station search](https://bahn.1f916.de/api/stations?q=Leipzig%20Hbf): resolve a
  station name to a `stop_id`. Output is self-describing. A bare city name
  (`?q=Bremen`) is resolved to that city's main rail hub when exactly one
  exists; the answer then carries a `resolution` object naming the rule, the
  chosen station, a reason, and the rejected alternatives. Names with several
  equal rail knots (`Basel`, `Frankfurt`) answer 400 with `candidates`.
- [Departures](https://bahn.1f916.de/api/departures?station=<stopId>): upcoming
  departures with `trip_id`, line, scheduled/actual time and current delay.
- [Discovery metadata](https://bahn.1f916.de/api/discovery): full x402 V2
  resource metadata, workflow and worked example.

## MCP (agent-native)

- `POST https://bahn.1f916.de/mcp` — Model Context Protocol, JSON-RPC 2.0 over
  Streamable HTTP. Free tools: `search_stations`, `departures`. Paid tool:
  `plan_transfer`. `initialize` and `tools/list` cost nothing, so you can read
  the price before deciding.
- Payment: call `plan_transfer` without payment and read the returned
  `PaymentRequired` object (`structuredContent.accepts`), then retry with the
  same payload in `params._meta["x402/payment"]`. The receipt comes back in
  `result._meta["x402/payment-response"]`.
- Manifest: `https://bahn.1f916.de/.well-known/mcp.json` — transport, tool
  list and price, for a host that looks before it connects. No OAuth and no
  account: the paid tool is x402 only.

## Paid endpoint (HTTP)

- `POST https://bahn.1f916.de/api/transfer-chain`

Body:

```json
{"trip_id": "<from departures>", "to": "<stop_id>", "min_buffer": 8}
```

Payment: x402 V2 `exact` scheme, USDC on Base (`eip155:8453`), EIP-3009
`transferWithAuthorization`. Price: **1 USDC-cent (10000 atomic units) per
query**, flat, no subscription.

Without a `PAYMENT-SIGNATURE` header the endpoint returns HTTP 402 together with
a `PAYMENT-REQUIRED` header containing the machine-readable payment requirement.
Read the authoritative price and recipient from that 402 response rather than
from any prose, including this file.

## Coverage and honest limits

- German, Swiss and Czech rail. Routing runs on a self-hosted MOTIS instance
  when that instance is up, and on the community transitous API otherwise;
  the live `/health` answer and each response's `provenance.provider` say
  which one answered. Real-time delay data where the upstream feed provides it.
- One payment rail (USDC on Base). One paid endpoint.
- No SLA. Data comes from live third-party feeds and can be incomplete or stale.
- A young service with a small public record. The verifiable claims are the
  free endpoints above and the 402 gate; both are checkable right now.
